I truly believe that ANYBODY can benefit from therapy no matter one's age, gender or race. I received a Masters in counseling and psychological services from St. Mary’s University. Since that time, I earned my Licensed professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of Ohio. I have experience working in school based counseling, Methadone clinic, community agency work, and private practice. I believe in a person centered counseling approach where my clients are able to feel a sense of respect and autonomy. In addition, I utilize motivational interviewing skills, solution focused therapy, reality therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Your goals are what is important to me and will be the foundation of our therapeutic journey together. I focus on a multitude of mental health diagnosis, with a focus on redefining the labels and roles that we play in our day to day life.
As a therapist, I understand that making the decision to come to therapy is often the hardest. I feel that the key to overcoming that hurdle is to create an inclusive, non judgmental, safe and nurturing environment in order to allow the client to feel free and comfortable to express themselves.
I do not believe in a one size fits all approach to therapy; therefore I like to incorporate a range of evidence based practices in order to best meet the needs of the individual. I have worked with clients with a variety of issues and diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress management.
I like to approach each client from a holistic perspective, understanding that everyone is different you are more than just your symptoms. So no matter who you are or what your experiences are, together we will work to achieve your goals.
Hello and welcome! My name is Lauren Murowsky, and I am a Licensed Social Worker with two years of experience. Over the past two years I have used my Social Work Trainee License (SWT) to provide counseling to individuals who have struggled with both mental health and substance abuse. I received my Masters of Social Work from Cleveland State University in the spring of 2022. My approach is direct and genuine, along with empathetic. I have experience in working with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-focused therapy.
